Chainguard's Josh Dolitsky elected to OCI's Technical Oversight Board
Today, we're thrilled to congratulate Chainguard’s Josh Dolitsky for winning a seat on the Technical Oversight Board during the recent election. The TOB is tasked with building consensus and collaboration across the OCI projects and Working Groups, and Josh's experience as a long-time contributor to the distribution-spec, conformance program, and the surrounding ecosystem make him the perfect person for the role. Plus, with Josh's addition, the companies represented on the TOB now have a collective market capitalization of over 8 Trillion dollars!
Chainguard joined the Open Containers Initiative last year because we believe open standards are critical to the software industry. The container specifications maintained by the OCI have provided a stable platform for open source communities and companies to build tools and services on for the last 5+ years. We rely on these specifications every day at Chainguard, and are grateful to everyone in the OCI community for their work since the OCI was formed.
The increase in software supply-chain attacks over the last several years will require industry-wide changes to address. This will be a large challenge, but also a large opportunity for the entire container ecosystem.
At Chainguard we believe solutions in this space must be rooted in open source and open standards. We're looking forward to working with the rest of the OCI community, including the new Reference Types Working Group, to design and implement the next wave of changes required to make OCI registries the most secure way of delivering software!
