Unlock the Full Chainguard Containers Catalog – Now with a Catalog Pricing Option
At Chainguard, we’ve always strived to simplify how you manage open source software, eliminate vulnerabilities, prevent malware attacks, and secure production environments — while freeing up your developers to move faster.
We’ve invested heavily in innovation and solved a lot of hard problems scaling Chainguard Containers:
We now have a massive catalog of over 1,400 secure-by-default container images, all backed by an SLA we contractually commit to for remediating CVEs in the entire stack, from OS to toolchain to application dependencies. If you’re running OSS in a container, we have an image for that.
We’re exposing direct, programmatic access to Chainguard OS and the Chainguard Factory, with new capabilities such as Custom Assembly (automated tooling for customizing images) and Private APK Repositories (direct access to our packages), allowing image customization using the 10,000+ packages we now build from source code that underlie our images.
We provide EOL Grace Period, a feature that extends the Factory to provide 6 months of additional end-of-life coverage, simplifying how customers operationalize our products.
And we’ve expanded into new layers of the stack with Chainguard Libraries and Chainguard VMs, enabling us to protect more of the software supply chain than ever before.
With all this innovation, one thing has become very clear: our customers want an easier, more affordable way to go all-in on Chainguard. They want to standardize on Chainguard as the safe source for open source. And you’re not truly getting a safe source for open source without securing all your open source.
Introducing a Catalog Pricing Option
To meet that demand, we’re introducing Catalog Pricing: a new option for purchasing Chainguard Containers that provides your team unlimited access to our entire image catalog of over 1,400 images, all 10,000+ underlying packages, and the 50-100 new images we build every month. Catalog Pricing scales based on your containerized engineering org size.
As with Per Image Pricing, we also now include Custom Assembly, our new secure customization platform that allows you to program our factory to create image variants with tailored packages that we maintain and update over time.
Engineering teams can use any image from our catalog whenever they need it. It’s a model that’s built for how modern teams work: fast, cross-functional, and constantly evolving.
Our catalog includes everything from essential language runtimes to full application stacks, all continuously rebuilt and patched by the automated Chainguard Factory to ensure minimal CVEs and maximum security.
All Your Images, None of the CVE Triage
Catalog Pricing scales with the size of your engineering team, while providing engineers with the flexibility to use any image from our catalog on demand. This gives engineers the power to eliminate CVE triaging, patching, and testing from the start, without having to prioritize certain images over others.
We’re offering this model because Chainguard Containers aren’t just infrastructure – they’re part of the daily workflow for developers writing and deploying services. Catalog Pricing better reflects that reality and aligns Chainguard’s value with how our products are used.
This pricing model is ideal for organizations that want greater flexibility in image usage, faster onboarding, and the ability to scale their deployment easily. This includes:
Organizations with evolving or unpredictable tech stacks.
Large organizations with varied deployment requirements across teams or business units.
Companies with an initiative to secure their entire containerized environment.
Platform teams standardizing the developer experience across their entire engineering organization.
For organizations that still want to focus on specific images, or have flexibility on where images are used across a large enterprise, our existing Per-Image Pricing remains fully available. It’s a great fit for targeted adoption, pilots, or fixed application stacks.
Get Started
With Catalog Pricing, we’re offering organizations the freedom to use what they want, when they want it, with pricing that scales with their development footprint, not their image list.
Catalog Pricing is now available for both new and existing customers. Want to learn more or see a quote? Contact us and we’ll help you explore which option is right for your team.
